4D Systems EVE development platform

The 4DLCD-FT843 is an embedded SPI display from 4D Systems, featuring a 4.3" resistive touch display with FTDI Chip's Embedded Video Engine, EVE. The 4DLCD-FT843 is a powerful SPI Display which enables a SPI host to be connected directly to the display, providing a powerful set of graphics features to the host using the on board FTDI FT800 Video Engine.

This display provides 4 in one functionality, a 4.3" TFT LCD Display, Audio with amplifier enable, and Resistive Touch screen and an integrated Video Engine. This combination built directly into the screen allows for simple integration into a number of applications.

EVE meets ADAM......a tempting solution

Introducing the Arduino Display Adaptor Module - ADAM - a compact Arduino-compatible shield which has been developed specifically to interface with the 4DLCD-FT843 - permitting communication between it and the Arduino via the SPI interface. With dimensions of just 47.5mm x 53.4mm, the shield is suitable for use with Arduino Uno, Due, Duemilanove, Leonardo, Mega 1280/2560 and Pro 5V, as well as variety of popular Arduino clones. It has a micro-SD card that provides the Arduino-based display system with capacious data storage. This enables the 4DLCD-FT843 to retrieve objects (such as images, sounds, fonts, etc.) quickly and easily. Drawing power from the Arduino's 5V bus, ADAM regulates the 4DLCD-FT843's supply to 3.3V.

ADAM is also offered in a complete display system, the FT843+ADAM which comes complete with mounting plate and bezel.

For systems that utilize other microcontrollers and require mounting plate and bezel, the FT843 system is offered. This system easily connects via SPI interface and header to chips with SPI master capability.
